Woo Hoo! When I woke up this morning, it didn't still look like 5 am outside!
First thing I did? Send the kids outside!
Not too long after they were outside, "Bruce" comes back in the door with a surprise for me. This morning glory! He's such a thoughtful boy.
We had 2 impromptu lessons today! Lesson #1 was about the morning glory.

Lesson #2 was roots of a plant and buying too much. (Waste not, want not.) This is what happens when daddy buys too many Vidalia's! And this shows them that we eat the root of some vegetables. (carrots, potatoes, onions)

This goes to show our family homeschooling motto. Learning Never Ends. You can learn anywhere even without textbooks, desks & pencils.
What did you learn today?

I loved this. I am new to your blog and very new to homeschooling. I just starting homeschooling my daughter---we're both having a blast. Also, I think we may live in the same city or at least state...
We discussed plants too! I do love the element of homeschooling that learning is ALWAYS taking place.
We picked up a turtle on the side of the road! Then let him go after he bit my youngest son!
I am still trying to get my heart around Marsha's tragedy. That is so hard to stomach!
The Morning Glory is my birth month flower, I believe! :) My dad use to always say, "Good morning, morning glory!"
We're working on ABCs and numbers.... kids have been really interested in that, and about how communities work, because, ever since we moved, they've been fascinated by our new neighborhood (which seems so huge).. and all the stuff around it!
I learned that if you get a heat pump that is too big for your home, it can actually cause problems by leaving your home humid.
I also learned that there are still exciting moments in politics:)
I love this post--a great way to show how simple school can be. thank you!
Looks like some good learning going on at your house. I truly believe that good education begins deep in the heart, embedded in our Spirits is a desire to know, to learn and to grow. God has so much more for us than curriculum books, he offers us the world.
